Burberry The September 2016 Collection

Burberry’s Christopher Bailey unveiled the brand’s buy now, see now collection inspired by Virginia Woolf’s ‘Orlando’.

Called the September 2016 collection, the fall-winter runway included one part Victorian separates, one part military embellished outerwear and another part pajama dressing. Silk blend sweaters are paired over ruffle adorned tops while dresses are made from romantic tulle and lace. For handbags, Burberry unveiled the ‘Bridle’ and ‘Buckle’ bags while footwear focused on cutout platform boots in snakeskin.

Inspired by Virginia Woolf's Orlando, the collection blurs the lines between the past and the present, masculinity and femininity. Pieces are crafted with time-honoured techniques in styles that contrast between the classical and the modern, creating an aesthetic born of all moments that have come before it.
